The Region of Waterloo, in collaboration with Area Municipalities and the Waterloo Economic Development Corporation (Waterloo EDC), has launched the 2026 Workplace Count from May until September 2026. This survey of businesses across the region takes place every two years, collecting important information about the local economy that is not captured in the Canadian Census.
Planned improvements within the village of Maryhill include full road reconstruction, underground storm sewer replacement, new curbs and sidewalks, and road and driveway improvements. Improvements to the Hopewell Creek bridge will include upgraded guiderails, decorative wall replacements, and enhanced space for pedestrians and cyclists.
The Region of Waterloo is replacing the Scheifele Bridge on Northfield Drive at Conestogo River in Woolwich Township. Work will feature the full replacement of the bridge deck, piers, abutments and wingwalls.
